MARK ECKO LAUNCHES A VIDEO GAME
My old boss finally gets into the gaming business. I remember taking Mark to LA and introducing him to his first E3 conference. Though neither of us at the time were golfers we spent the day golfing 18 holes with the EA Sports guys and former sports legends Joe Montana, Reggie Jackson, Jim Plunkett at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, CA at their annual E3 outing. After we did “Knock Out Kings” and “Madden” partnerships, Ecko and his team have put their own “skin in the game” and done their own thing–congrats!
I FOUND THE “Q SCORE”
We were involved in a program with a major fast food chain last winter, and of course they wanted to challenge our choice of celebrity by making sure they tested the Q Score of our selected Celebrity. I found this rather dumb especially considering the program was a spoken word poetry program and my celeb was none other than Saul Williams (It gets no better-He’s the Michael Jordan!). In fact I thought the agency was pulling my leg about this Q Score….Now, it looks like the “Q-Score” has some competition in a new measurement being developed by Davie-Brown.
Though I do still think that you can’t always measure celebrity brand value with these scientific approaches, it will be interesting to see what Davie-Brown comes up with.
