NAS GETS AN IMPRINT AND A NEW LABEL HOME AND LANDLORDS
Nas signs a new recording deal that finds Sony and Def Jam in business once again. Looks like a creative opportunity to make sure Donnie Ienner recoups his money back that Columbia Records spent over the years on “son.” Well crafted by the good ol’ 550 Business Affairs folks. Essentially Nas and Jay Z ended their beef over the summer at a concert in NYC and Nas will now call Def Jam a partner. Now you know longtime Nas sidekick Steve Stoute has to be involved somewhere in this mix especially since he and Sean Carter are partners. Maybe Nas’s presence will motivate Jigga Man to leave the corner office and head over to Hit Factory and record a response to Cam’s diss record which is buzzing in the streets right now! Expect Nas’s album to be one of the most anticipated of the year.

DAVE MAYS AND TEAM OUSTED, BOARD MOVES JEREMY MILLER IN
Though he probably has the right heart, the brand has already been
tarnished. The Source Mag is on one leg but the board is trying to get
its money back.
I FOUND T.O. AND HE WAS IN ORANGE COUNTY!
Got an email from Caralene Robinson (Boost Mobile) today. She hit me with the sneak peek of the upcoming Terrell Owens commercial. Good look for Boost as a part of their “Where Ya At” campaign. :30 Spot runs tomorrow during the Broncos playoff game.
IN OTHER VIRAL NEWS–IT’S BILAL AND IT’S GOOD!
Got another “viral” servicing this week and this was the mp3 advance on the much anticipated Bilal album. Very dope. Still may be a little too musical for the masses but it was like a “drug” for me and my fellow music heads priveledged to get our hands on the album. Not sure if that was an intentional leaking on behalf of Cynthia Johnson and Warner Bros, if so great job. If not sorry CJ, but I am enjoying this album and won’t give it back!
REMEMBER LEVI’S? THEY ARE TRYING TO GET BACK IN THE GAME WITH IPOD JEANS
Levi Strauss who I’m sure right now in this overpopulated denim market are “taking it on the chin” have announced today that they are launching an IPOD Jeans with room for a docking cradle, headphones and joystick.
